Hollowreach

Hollowreach is a moody adventure game about exploring a valley everyone else has left behind. There is no combat; instead you solve environmental puzzles, read scattered notes, and slowly piece together why the place emptied out. It leans heavily on mood, and it earns it.

The puzzles are mostly observational. You notice a detail, connect it to something you saw earlier, and the path forward opens. Nothing here is unfair, and the game trusts you to wander rather than funnelling you down a corridor.

I played most of it with headphones late at night, which is clearly how it was meant to be experienced. If you want a short, melancholic story you can finish over a weekend, this is an easy recommendation.
